PointsBrain currently has no active affiliate relationships and earns nothing from any card, portal, or program mentioned on this site. We have applied to affiliate networks; if and when a relationship goes live, this page will say so, and any link that can compensate us will be labeled at the link.

The standing rule

Recommendations are computed by a deterministic engine from verified card facts and conservative point valuations. Affiliate compensation has zero weight in that computation — not small, zero. A card that pays us can never outrank a card that doesn't because of the payment. If honoring that rule costs us revenue, we forgo the revenue. See how we compute for the full method.

What that means in practice

• The best answer for you is computed first; monetization, if any, attaches afterward and never changes the answer.
• Point values use conservative floors, not the inflated values that make cards look better than they are.
• If you carry a balance, we suppress card recommendations entirely and say so — no rewards rate beats card interest.
• Found a recommendation that looks wrong or self-serving? Report it — corrections outrank everything else we do.
