Transfer partners / Citi TYP
Citi ThankYou Rewards transfer partners
Citi ThankYou Rewards transfers to 19 partners (14 airlines, 5 hotels), mostly at 1:1 (5 partners at other ratios), in 1,000-point increments. Transfers are one-way and final. Ratios shown are for premium ThankYou cards; non-premium cards (including the base Strata, Double Cash and Custom Cash) transfer at reduced ratios. Verified 2026-08-07.
Cards that can transfer
Citi Strata Premier · Citi Strata Card · Citi Double Cash · Citi Custom Cash
Three of the four Citi cards we catalog — the base Strata, Double Cash and Custom Cash — are non-premium ThankYou cards: they transfer at 0.7× the premium ratios (the non-premium column below). Only Strata Elite, Strata Premier and the closed Prestige get the full ratios. That includes American AAdvantage: long reported as premium-only, but open to no-annual-fee ThankYou cards at 1:0.7 since Aug 25, 2025.
Transfer bonus live now
25% to Leading Hotels of the World Leaders Club: the standard 5:1 improves to 4:1 — premium-tier cards 1,000 TYP → 250 Leaders Club points; non-premium tier (incl. the base Strata, Double Cash and Custom Cash) 1,000 → 175 at the 0.7x tier — ends 2026-09-19.
To Leading Hotels of the World (Leaders Club). Recorded 2026-08-24; reported by multiple independent outlets, not issuer-verified (the bonus's official page sits behind a member login) — confirm the terms with the program running the bonus before transferring.
- A transfer bonus is never a reason to move points speculatively: transfers are one-way and final. Move points only against a specific award you are booking now, priced at or above the currency's floor value.

| American Airlines AAdvantage | 1:1 | 1,000 | instant | 1:0.7 · 700 | The only major transferable bank currency with an American AAdvantage partnership. Non-premium access was long reported as premium-only by major guides, but Citi opened AA to no-annual-fee ThankYou cards at 1:0.7 on Aug 25, 2025 — confirmed across three outlets and Citi’s own Strata page (stale premium-only rows persist in some guides). |

| JetBlue TrueBlue | 1:1 | 1,000 | instant | 1:0.7 · 700 | The closed ThankYou Mastercard loses JetBlue access on Sep 20, 2026; currently offered ThankYou cards keep it. |

| Qatar Airways Privilege Club | 1:1 | 1,000 | ~1–2 days (trackers disagree) | 1:0.7 · 700 | Earns Avios — this roster's only Avios-earning partner. Aer Lingus itself is not a Citi partner, despite appearing on one tracker. |

| Choice Privileges | 1:1.5 | 1,500 | instant | 1:1.05 · 1,050 | Devalued from 1:2 to 1:1.5 effective Apr 19, 2026. Guides quoting non-premium at 1:1.4 are applying the pre-devaluation base; 0.7 × the current ratio is 1:1.05. |
| Leading Hotels of the World (Leaders Club) | 5:1 · bonus | 200 | instant | 1:0.14 · 140 | |
| Preferred Hotels & Resorts (I Prefer) | 1:2 | 2,000 | instant (one tracker) | 1:1.4 · 1,400 | One report prints non-premium at 1:2.8 — that would beat the premium ratio, which is implausible; 1:1.4 (0.7 × 2) is used. |
| Wyndham Rewards | 1:1 | 1,000 | instant vs ~1 day (trackers conflict) | 1:0.7 · 700 |
- Citi TYP publishes no transfer-processing times, so the reported times are community measurements from the two independent trackers that publish per-partner tables (Frequent Miler and Upgraded Points), checked Sep 3, 2026. Frequent Miler credits AwardWallet's community data for many of its Citi rows, so those two columns are not fully independent — AwardWallet's own measured table was therefore checked as a third column, and a row shows a conflict wherever any source diverges (Accor: both trackers print instant while AwardWallet's measurements say ~2 days). Upgraded Points prints "almost instantly" on most of its rows without naming a source. Where the trackers disagree, the table says so instead of picking a side. A reported time is not a guarantee — never rely on a fast transfer for a same-day award booking.
Common questions
Which cards can transfer Citi TYP points to partners?
Citi Strata Premier, Citi Strata Card, Citi Double Cash, Citi Custom Cash.
What is the minimum Citi TYP transfer?
1,000 points, moved in 1,000-point increments. See the fine print below for partner-specific exceptions.
Can I reverse a Citi TYP transfer?
No. Transfers to travel partners are one-way and final — once points land in the partner program they cannot come back. Transfer only against a specific award you are booking now.
How many transfer partners does Citi ThankYou Rewards have?
19 (14 airlines, 5 hotels) as of 2026-08-07, mostly at 1:1. The full table above lists every partner with its exact ratio.
How long do Citi TYP transfers take?
Citi TYP publishes no processing times, so the only data is community-measured (two independent trackers, checked Sep 3, 2026). 10 of 19 partners are reported instant; the slowest reports are EVA Air Infinity MileageLands (instant vs ~1–2 days — the trackers conflict) and Qantas Frequent Flyer (instant vs ~1 day — the trackers conflict) and Qatar Airways Privilege Club (~1–2 days — the trackers disagree) and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer (~1–2 days — the trackers disagree) and Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus (~3–7 days) and ALL - Accor Live Limitless (instant vs ~2 days — the trackers conflict) and Wyndham Rewards (instant vs ~1 day — the trackers conflict). Treat every time as reported, not guaranteed — never rely on a fast transfer for a same-day booking.
No longer true (what stale guides still say)
- Aeromexico was removed as a ThankYou partner effective Jan 25, 2026. Several major guides still carry a stale Aeromexico row — it is not a partner.
- Aer Lingus is not a direct ThankYou partner (one tracker lists it, likely Avios-family confusion). Avios is reachable via Qatar Privilege Club instead.
- Choice Privileges devalued from 1:2 to 1:1.5 on Apr 19, 2026 — guides still printing 1:2 are out of date, and non-premium figures of 1:1.4 compound the same stale base (0.7 × the current ratio is 1:1.05).
Fine print that changes the math
- Minimum 1,000 points, in 1,000-point increments (reported — Citi’s partner page sits behind a login).
- Two-tier ratios: premium ThankYou cards (Strata Elite, Strata Premier, Prestige) get the full ratios shown; every other ThankYou card — including the base Strata, Double Cash and Custom Cash — transfers at 0.7× the premium ratio (the non-premium column). Non-premium access to nearly the full roster is itself new, reported June 26, 2026; before that, only Choice, JetBlue and Wyndham were reachable.
- The closed ThankYou Mastercard loses JetBlue transfers on Sep 20, 2026; other ThankYou cards are unaffected.
Where these facts come from
Citi publishes no publicly reachable ratio table (the ThankYou partner page requires a login), so the roster and ratios are the consensus of four independent outlets — reported, not issuer-verified — most recently re-corroborated Aug 7, 2026. Non-premium ratios follow the 0.7× rule reported across outlets; the per-partner non-premium table comes from the one guide that publishes it in full.
